This is for those who are in public school or have a homeschool curriculum and just need a little help on a specific subject. Contact us for a free consultation.
If you’ve just started homeschooling or just need some support because you are feeling overwhelmed. Our team works with you to examine your homeschool needs and to brainstorm structure or changes to help things run smoothly and positively. This includes the legal aspects, choosing a curriculum, and helping parents and children be on the same team.
Our Founder is a Texas Certified teacher with certifications in EC-8 Generalist, Special Education EC-12, English as a Second Language (ESL/ESOL), and Gifted & Talented (GT/GATE). High School and College

Our team includes local college students who excel in their studies and also have both the skills and desire to teach and lead your student. We have availability for all subjects, with specialties all levels of math. Need high school or college writing tutoring, or assistance with proofreading, study skills, or organization? We are currently offering tutoring from a university professor in the sub disciplines, biology, chemistry, and math (algebra through calculus). Need help catching up, staying ahead, or passing a test? Contact us!

Life Coaching & Inner Healing

Often we notice that things in our lives just seem to be jumbled or going in the wrong direction. Sometimes this can be because of a lack of boundaries, negative thinking, or simply not successfully setting and working toward goals. Present behaviors are rooted in the beliefs we have about ourselves and the world around us. Let us help you set new goals for your life, and work on the underlying beliefs and boundaries to help you change your life from the inside-out.
Our bodies give us signals and indications of what is going on deep within us. Our physical bodies remember or store evidence of our patterns of beliefs, how we treat ourselves, and how others have treated us. Our Methods

Free Consultation

We meet with the parent and student to get to know you and your child’s past experiences with education, as well as to learn your child’s gifts, talents, and passions. We then design an individual learning plan, specific to your child.
Independent Growth Plan

After the consultation, we develop a plan for independent growth for each student, based on their gifts, talents, and passions. We navigate through hurdles and make realistic goals short- and long-term goals.
Motivation-Focused Learning

We learn what motivates your child, and work with them to realize their own potential to pursue learning, and that they do not need to fit into the same mold as everyone else.
Curriculum Advice and Design

Based on your student’s individual needs, we will advise you on resources and create a curriculum specific to your child that will meet, and exceed, state requirements. Through UpwardHouse Learning, you will have access to multiple costly educational resources, to which we subscribe.
Parent Resources and Support

Inter-Family Networking

Sinking the Boat

Picture with me a speed boat zooming through the water. Behind it is a large triangular wake. Once students know their greatest talents and passions, they can zoom ahead like a speed boat on a path to learn all they can about that topic. Everything else they need in order to excel in that specialty area they will seek out and learn in the wake of their own speed boat. If they are expected to learn everything about everyone else's specialty areas, it's as if you have tied lead weights to the back of that speed boat and it holds the boat back like anchors from all directions behind the boat. If it continues to try to speed ahead, the boat will actually begin to take on water and, if the lead weights aren't cut off, or the boat doesn't slow down, the boat will sink.

From What State?

“Are you enjoying homeschooling?” I sat in stunned silence as I contemplated my dear friend’s question. She may as well have been speaking a foreign language. Enjoying? Homeschooling should be enjoyable? My institutional mindset could not compute. As the cogs in my brain kicked into high gear, contemplating this new idea, my friend (and homeschool mother of ten) sat, radiating peace. That single question completely changed my trajectory, and I am forever grateful.
